High Tea in Victoria

My boyfriend Kevin took me out to high tea at The Empress. A very ritzy 4-star hotel in Victoria (in British Columbia, for those of you who don't know your Canada geography). We had an adorable table by the window. We got all gussied up (as you can tell) and had a wonderful date. This is us enjoying our tea and treats. Let's see: finger sandwiches, tarts, creams, fruit, biscuits and much more! Tons of cream for the tea! Fine china. I love to see Kevin's hand gracefully curved around the prim tea cup! I felt like Princess Di!

Wine & Cheese party in Eugene

The festivities began like any other. The cleaning and prepwork. The rule was that everyone had to bring a bottle of wine and a block of cheese to share. We provided the fruit and olives along with more cheese and wine. We had about 8 – 10 people attend. Any more and it would have been a coctail party!

Low lighting makes for interesting pictures. We enjoyed ourselves so much! Will definitely have to do again!

Plenty of cheese and wine for all the attendees! This is a rough picture of our toast!

Review: Quark's in Las Vegas (Star Trek: The Experience)

Note: Sadly, as I was researching this blog post in 2010, I realized that Quark's has now been CLOSED! Here is a picture of me and my friend Jessica enjoying a giant bubbling bowl of alcohol!

Klingon face! It was awesome to see "cast members" walking around and interacting with Trekkies!

Fried Yuca in Puerto Rico

I went to Puerto Rico to visit my friend Ro-el and his family. Here we are with the ocean behind us. It was a wonderful trip. I feasted heartily. :)

Here is an example of one of the local dishes I tried. I had fried yuca and LOVED it. The yuca is the long, tan things in the middle of this picture. I also had fried plaintains, which I continued to love in the states.

Review: The Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow

Here I am sitting in a chair in the Willow Tea Room in Glasglow, Scotland. This tea room was designed by the famous artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904. Because I am a tea enthusiast AND an art enthusiast, I just HAD to check it out!

Here's a view from outside the tea room. It was pretty well hidden, but then again everything seemed hidden or up a few flights of stairs.

This was the wonderful dessert I had (cough) for lunch: Earl Grey tea and a strawberry tart with a dollap of cream.

Bangers and Mash in Edinburgh

Ahh, Bangers and Mash. Truely delicious! Smooth, creamy mashed potatoes with four sausages jauntly placed top-side complete with a smatteringlly healthy-helping of peas. Scrumptious!
Here's a picture of me chilling in the restaurant. The name of the restaurant escapes me today.
